Advisers to Welsh fire and security services business, Ceaton Security, on its sale to Senseco Systems.
A Welsh fire and security services business has been acquired by a leading UK fire protection firm, in a deal supported by our Corporate Finance team.
Founded in 1991, Ceaton Security (Ceaton) is a family business that specialises in the design, installation and maintenance of fire suppression systems and security networks. From its headquarters in Cardiff, it supports a range of private and public sector clients including the charity Barnardo’s and the Principality Stadium, home of the Welsh national rugby union team.
It has now been acquired by Senseco Systems, an industry-leading fire and security specialist which operates across the UK and is backed by private equity firm, Foundation Investment Partners, marking the latest step in its buy-and-build strategy.
We were appointed by Angie Beasley, Managing Director of Ceaton, to explore a trade sale of the group. Our team, led by Director Thomas Edwards, Executive Jade Burgess and Associate Twm Westcott, helped to prepare the business for sale before identifying an appropriate buyer in Senseco. The team then led on negotiations and helped to secure the necessary National Security and Investment (NSI) approval, allowing the deal to reach a positive outcome for all parties.
Senseco will now benefit from Ceaton’s strong reputation in the Welsh market and its longstanding relationships with clients. Meanwhile Ceaton, which will continue to trade under the same name, will be able to take advantage of Senseco’s resources and UK-wide network.
Thomas Edwards, Director at FRP Corporate Finance, said: “It’s been a pleasure to have advised Angie on the transaction. The business attracted significant market interest, which is not surprising considering the impressive growth that has been achieved since she led a management buyout back in 2022. Under Senseco Systems, Ceaton Security can continue to deliver its exceptional, specialised services across Wales and the South West of England.”
Angie Beasley, Managing Director at Ceaton Security, added: “Since starting out over 30 years ago, we’ve prided ourselves on providing a high-quality service to our clients, and this deal will allow us to continue to do that with a partner in Senseco who understand the importance of our longstanding relationships and deep foothold within the local market. Senseco is a business with values and a culture like our own, making this deal a good fit for both our clients and employees.
“The support provided by Thomas and the team at FRP Corporate Finance was second to none and helped us achieve a deal with a business that we’re looking forward to working with over the coming years.”
