Sam McAlister

Sam McAlister is a BAFTA-nominated interviews producer, author, and negotiation expert. With a background as a criminal barrister, she transitioned into journalism, spending over a decade at BBC Newsnight. There, she secured high-profile interviews with figures such as Prince Andrew, Elon Musk, and Bill Clinton. Her memoir, Scoops: Behind the Scenes of the BBC’s Most Shocking Interviews, was published in 2022 and inspired the Netflix film Scoop, in which she is portrayed by Billie Piper. Currently, Sam serves as a Visiting Senior Fellow at the London School of Economics, specialising in negotiation.
